In reply to: [ImageMagick Engine] Still Needed? Alternatives?Currently, WordPress will use ImageMagick as the default only if your server also has the Imagick PHP extension installed and enabled. This article provides a thorough breakdown of the things you need to know: WordPress | Keep EXIF IPTC Metadata | Resized Images

In reply to: [Before After Image Slider Lite] ErrorDid this get approval yet? I have:
Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, class ‘Moewe_Before_After_Slider_Administration’ does not have a method ‘load_textdomain’ in /home/aoxoaco/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php on line 298
I am willing to make changes manually if you will provide a code snip and where it goes.

In reply to: [Autoptimize] Inline and Defer CSS – not working on mobile?Host was able to recreate and solve the issue: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/inline-defer-options-php-error-font-issue/

In reply to: [Autoptimize] Inline and Defer CSS – not working on mobile?I marked this as resolved because inline and defer does work on mobile ;-). Once I gather some info on the @font issue I’ll open another thread for you.
Thank you for the input and amazing support. I got it with this code:
add_filter('autoptimize_filter_css_defer_inline','my_ao_css_defer_inline',10,1); function my_ao_css_defer_inline($inlined) { if (is_front_page()) { return "your-home-page-css-goes-here"; // overwrite default a-t-f CSS } else { return $inlined; // use default a-t-f CSS for all other types } }
I compiled my notes and made an in depth guide about how to target the home page with its own unique inlined CSS.

In reply to: [Autoptimize] Inline and Defer CSS – not working on mobile?I’ll try to find out more about this and report back (as time allows). Moving it out of our high priority box for now 😉
Thank you for your time and sharing your knowledge.

Dreamweaver doesn’t like something about this part of the code
==false { return
At least that is when it notified me of the syntax error.It says “there is a syntax error. Code hinting may not work until I fix the error.”
I tried it live and my webpage would not load.
I put this code in my themes functions.php:
add_filter('autoptimize_filter_css_defer_inline','my_ao_css_defer_inline',10,1 ); function my_ao_css_defer_inline($inlined) { if (is_font_page())!==false { return "my minified critical css for home page";} } else { return $inlined; }
Note: in place of
my minified critical css for home page
I put my css within the quotes.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Autoptimize] Inline and Defer CSS – not working on mobile?Sure: as a github gist.
The block is the same as the one in the vid. Note: i do not have “dashicons.min.css” excluded from being optimized.
Let me know if you want anything else.
Should I mark this as resolved?

In reply to: [Autoptimize] Inline and Defer CSS – not working on mobile?My bad. I was making a screen recording for you and it was not the
@media
(good news). It was@font
like:@font-face { font-family: dashicons; src: url(//aoxoa.co/wp-includes/css/../fonts/dashicons.eot); }
Screen cast of that issue (if you wanted to check it out). https://youtu.be/sVVVydjXIZo

I was testing critical css for the HP to do exactly that. However, on pagespeed it didn’t move the dial. And on GTmetrix it increased my load time (+.1), total page size (+.01mb) and request (+1). Plus, I am having issues with
@media
in my css. Ha, so I thought why not exclude the home page.Since it is not as easy as I thought, I’ll but in the css as you suggest.
So, everything else looks ok? like using
is_front_page
instead ofis_home

In reply to: [Autoptimize] Inline and Defer CSS – not working on mobile?So to target small devices my theme uses syntax like
@media screen and (max-width:520px) { .site-header { text-align: center; }
I had to take out the
@media
stuff in the css because i was getting an error when trying to save (i think the @ sign caused problems). Is there another way to notate the mobile parts of my css?I’ll keep working on it. Thanks for the info 😉
I discovered the render blocking YARPP css only shows up when I have WP Rocket activated. I am not using any minification features of WPRocket. Any ideas to prevent this?
Note: not sure if this is related but I also get a render blocking css from an autoptimize file: /wp-content/cache/autoptimize/css/autoptimize_f2716812a197cdb88af3ec6f3d464402.css
I have deleted this file, cleared Autoptimize cache, etc… That same file eventually comes back.

In reply to: [ImageMagick Engine] Image size medium_large not affectedThanks Mark. Adding these lines for the medium_large size to the list containing “update_option” in the themes functions.php worked for us:
update_option( ‘medium_large_size_w’, 768, true );
update_option( ‘medium_large_size_h’, ”, true );ImageMagick Engine resized it.
To clarify: ImageMagick Engine will resize to the update_option ()’s medium_large on a fresh upload only.
It will not include a resize of the medium_large (from update_option) if you are using the Regenerate Images feature. The regenerate feature only regenerates the sizes that it displays for you in the list.
And, it will not regenerate the medium_large using the resize button on the attachment details screen either.
I wanted to regenerate all my images and get the medium-large size. The work around I used was to temporarily include this line in the theme’s functions.php:
add_image_size( 'medium_large', 768, 9999 );
After the regeneration were complete I removed that line of code.
Hopefully someone can provide a hack to make it include all update_option()’s and add_image_size ()’s
