 * I’m writing this for ladymusta. After more research, it turns out that my wordpress
   installation is probably corrupt (possibly caused by a plugin). Apparently there
   are two ways to fix this. One is from the dashboard and is easy and worked for
   me. wp-admin>dashboard>updates>Re-install now
    This worked for me and I now have
   the static front page option. If that doesn’t work, there is another way to do
   it from the cpanel. I didn’t read the details on that one because the easy method

 * I tried it with different themes and I have the same problem. I tried a bunch
   of different themes always with the same result. I have now also tried it in 
   Internet Explorer with the same result. Thanks for your continued help!

 * Hi Liam,
    No, my settings–reading page doesn’t look like that. Mine starts with
   what is below the pink box in your example “Blog Pages Show at Most” I don’t 
   have the front page displays option at all. I am working in Windows 7 and Chrome
   but opened it on a Mac in Chrome and still didn’t see it. (Also, similarly, didn’t
   see infinty scroll options in my settings–general page that I think is supposed
   to be visible.) Tried with various themes and still could not see the front page
   displays option. Thanks!

 * I am having the same problem. The menu works perfectly on a desktop but doesn’t
