I couldn’t pass security as I didn’t have a customer ref and the name I gave was not the one on the account. * I emailed my colleague again, asking her to send me any account information she has with 1&1.com, which she replied that she doesn’t remember having any dealings with them. * I am very confused as to what has happened. * To summarise: – Initially wordpress account and website was working fine and I was able to log in – Tryied to edit the .css file (on WordPress admin) of the theme to find I need to change the permission of it – Downloaded FileZilla to try to connect to the site via FTP, with no luck; therefore I DO NOT have the files – A couple weeks late, the site is gone (pointing to a default page) and cannot access admin of her site. – thecityoflight.co.uk/wp-admin points to a 404 page, where as before it would point to the admin login page – In addition, I cannot log into her wordpress account any longer (invalid username and/or password)– I asked her for domain account details to see if the files are their. She has only bought the domain name from 123-Reg.com – searched for who was hosting – its 1&1.com – Called 1&1.com, won’t confirm if the files are their, or if they have been accessed. They confirmed in a roundabout way that her site [thecityoflight.co.uk](http://www.thecityoflight.co.uk) is hosted by them. – She doesn’t have any recollection of dealing with them * Is there anyone available at wordpress to check her account to see what has happened, and what is the way to go about this? * Available options I see: – Click forgotten password on WordPress and ask her to check whether she has receieved an email asking her to change password – Find out whether this blog is a WordPress.org or WordPress.com one.
