I don’t know DesktopServer. Have you tried changing the widget in the live site?

The only widget I see has “Additional Material” as title. This widget is a WordPress’ standard “Recent Posts” widget. Here is a screenshot:

    Thanks for your help.

    You’re very welcome! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hello @philbruce,
I see that your sidebar is using the standard widget “Recent Posts” of WordPress, not a widget of “Posts in Sidebar”.

    Let me know, please.

    Dear moderators,
The user @calixtogpl posted this review here, but it is obvious that he wanted to post it in the forum of another plugin, namely WP Private Content Plus. Probably he confused the two plugins.

Infact, the user mentions the database option wppcp_options, which is used by WP Private Content Plus, not by mine.

I also see that WP Private Content Plus has had this type of problem in the past (now resolved), problem that is currently reported by @calixtogpl here (by mistake).

For this reason I kindly ask you to delete this review.

    Thanks in advance,
    Best regards.

    Hello @calixtogpl,
I’m quite sure that you are using another plugin, not mine.

These two plugins have similar names, and sometimes users confuse these plugins.

Making a Google search, seems that the other plugin should be infected, not mine.

Also, my plugin doesn’t create wppcp_options option name, that seems to be created by WP Private Content Plus, not by Private Content (my plugin). Please, see the review page of that plugin.

May I ask you to delete this review?

Have you resolved using User Role Editor plugin?

    Hello @rootstone,
I just released the new version 4.10.0. Simply, update the plugin and you’ll have the new option available.

Go to the widget admin and find the new panel here:
“Getting posts” > “Get posts from username”

Activate the option “Get posts from current username” and you should be done.

In the front-end, the widget will show posts that have a meta key equal to the username of the currently logged-in user (the logged-in user that is visiting your site).

You can use the new option in the shortcode too. For example:

    [pissc number=3 get_from_username=1 ignore_sticky=1]

    where:

    number=3 is the number of posts you want to show;
    get_from_username=1 activate the option to get posts from username;
ignore_sticky=1 do not show sticky posts on top of other posts.

Please, let me know if it works as expected.

My advice is to use a dedicated plugin to do this type of checks. Private Content is a simple plugin that cannot check if a user is connected from different machines.

Could you give me the URL of a page where the plugin is in use?

    Plugin Author Aldo

    (@aldolat)

Ok, but my plugin doesn’t have anything to do with login processes:

we need to prevent that the same user can login from different machines

My plugin is used to show small portions of a post/page to certain users.

    Let me know, please.

    Hello,
are you sure you are using Private Content plugin from the WordPress repository or are you using the one from Code Canyon?

My plugin doesn’t manage login processes, so it cannot control what you’re asking.

    Please, let me know.

    Hi,

โ€“ Specifying the category names manually. This is no good because it wonโ€™t work if I change the name of the category),

You can use the “Custom taxonomy query” panel, where you can use IDs, names, and slugs. For example:

    where:

    category is the taxonomy
Term ID is the field you want to use
7 is the ID of the category

โ€“ Choosing the current category. I find this works oddly, since it fetches the first category in the a-z alphabet, which isnโ€™t helpful (it wouldโ€™ve been better if it fetched the Primary Category instead).

I think you are referring to the same question posted here.

When changing the query in single posts, you can choose which category is used by WordPress to get posts from by activating “Sort categories”, in the “Getting posts” > “Change the query when on single posts” > “Get posts from current category” panel.

I wrote a post on this in my blog.

    Let me know, please.

    I did it! ๐Ÿ™‚
It’s in an early stage… but it works.

Each user sees the posts that have his username (login name), while non-logged-in users see a standard posts list.
