 * Thanks guys for the quick response.
 * Ipstenu, Thanks for pointing me towards the multi-network plugin. That plugin
   definitely needs to come with a warning. I used it and completely messed up my
   sites. I couldn’t log back into the admin console. I had to do a complete re-
   install of wordpress. This option is therefore out for me, but I think is a good
   one for people who know how to use it 🙂
 * sonnycool, Yes, that was what I was thinking to do originally, but was looking
   for a cleaner solution. But in the end, that is what I ended up doing. I did 
   a WP install in the main folder, then a WP with MP install in the sub-folder.
   It’s working now.
