 * Thanks for your input, Esmi. It led me directly to the solution.
 * I removed “Lucinda Bright” from the list, leaving Verdana as the first default
font. Things still didn’t line up as they did before, but I’ve fixed that also.
It’s better to have Verdana as the first choice instead of whatever the previous
font was, anyway, because it exists on probably all computers.
 * As to the reason why this incident just happened of its own accord, that’ll have
to remain a mystery. (Cue T Z music.)

 * A good suggestion, Esmi, but the first thing I did was to check it on another
computer at a different IP address. The font was still the wrong one.
 * I’ll check the .css code later today, and report back.

 * I imagine there’s no way to dig down into the content of the permalink. It looks
like the teaser is as far as one can go.
 * I guess I’ve solved my own problem. Thank you, Me!

 * I’m very close. By guesswork I discovered that there’s a function ‘get_content’
that gets a “teaser” from the feed. Is there another function that gets the entire
   content?

 * My explanation was probably inadequate. There is a script that returns a specified
number of items in an RSS feed, which can be set to return 1 single item. It
returns only the title of the item as a permalink, however, and I need it to
return the content of the item also.
 * So, I guess, the question really is: How can I display the content of an RSS
feed item for which I have the title as a permalink?

 * Setting ‘depth’ to “1” instead of the default “-1” did the trick. Genius! Thanks
   again.

 * Thanks for the replies, pals.
 * ironfenix, I did exactly that when I created the Tennis page. I was surprised,
then, to see it displayed in the main menu. That’s what prompted me to seek help.
If, indeed, this action should suppress the Tennis menu item, it’s just not happening.
Could the choice of theme have something to do with it? I’d have thought that
it’d be a global WordPress rule, unaffected by a theme. I may be wrong there.
I’m using the German Newspaper 1.2.33 theme.
 * dfunkydog, no, I’m not using Custom menus, because the description says that
the menu would appear in the side bar. I want it where it is now, i.e., at the
   top.
“The current theme does not natively support menus, but you can use the“
Custom Menu” widget to add any menus you create here to the theme’s sidebar.”
 * I’ll look into your “depth” suggestion and tell you how I got on.
