First-time commenters need to be approved, but it seems like the only people who are actually registering are spammers or scrapers. I don’t want to piss off any legit registered users, but what are they actually getting by registering? After having a similar problem with 2.7x, I reinstalled 2.5.1 which worked. I’m using NG Gallery, and on one posting, which is still up on the front page, there is a gallery of photos (link below). I like the idea of bbpress as a sister product to WP, but am intimidated by the installation process. For reference, WP’s “Famous Five-Minute Install” took me three tries and five days.
