In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Tables not full width of div?Actually, I am now noticing that all of my tables have a slight “overhang”, meaning they all are a little bit bigger than the main div and there is a scroll bar showing up at the bottom of the page.
When I inspect the page, there is CSS stating “width: 961px” or 666px for pages with a side bar, but I can’t figure out where this CSS is coming from or how to override it.
***EDIT: I found a fix! I had a bug in my code in the TablePress Plugin Options CSS. But if you have any info on where those numbers 961 and 666 are coming from it would be appreciated!
Update: I figured out a workaround. I originally had the following CSS in my theme CSS doc:
.dataTables_scrollHeadInner,
.tablepress {width: 960px !important;}(Right now I don’t remember why I was using the !important tag)
I modified it to this:
.dataTables_scrollHeadInner,
.tablepress {width: 960px;}#tablepress-23_wrapper .dataTables_scrollHeadInner,
.tablepress {width: 660px;}Thanks! I read through that and understand that the temporary fix is to either disable the Paypal plugin or revert back to the older version of WooCommerce. I think I’m going to leave things as is with WooCommerce for now and disable WPP.
Please let me know if you find a solution, as I may need to look for a different popular posts plugin that is compatible with WooCommerce.
Ok I’ll look into it. I’m guessing it has something to do with implementing SSL and WooCommerce.

In reply to: [WordPress Popular Posts] Popular Posts View Count Different than Jetpack?That was an incredibly thorough answer, thank you!
Okay. For tables including dates pre-1950, I will definitely do that, thank you! Even if it can’t be fixed, it’s nice knowing what the cause of the problem is. 🙂
Hey, so I think I figured out what the problem is: I took a closer look at the way it was sorting the dates and realized that for some reason, it appears that dates prior to 1950 aren’t being sorted before dates after 1950! Take a look at the way it sorts this table:
http://dgmono.com/monk-10-inch-discography/
It’s definitely putting all the pre-1950 dates at the end of the list.
Is there anything you can do to fix this??
Okay, so I changed the dates to mm/dd/yyyy and it’s sorting properly even without the custom command. Needless to say, I’m still confused about why the two-digit year format is working with the old table but not the new ones. A few questions to wrap things up:
1. Are you sure it was sorting correctly top to bottom before on your end? I’m wondering if the first 10 rows looked sorted correctly but after that they weren’t…?
2. Would updating WordPress or anything else help?
3. What are the chances that the problem is related to MS Excel?
4. Are you sure the custom command you gave me is correct?Thanks so much, we can leave it here if you wish. 🙂
PS: Just donated for your awesome help.

So this is interesting: Without the Custom Command
"columnDefs": [ { "type": "date", "targets": 0 } ]
, the table at the link below appears to kind of sort by month (note that every entry in that table is not a date), but when I add the custom command, it sorts like the 78 Discography table–which appears completely random:http://dgmono.com/monk-discography/
PS: I made my tables in Excel, so I tried copying and pasting the 78 Discography table to a new doc and got the message below:
…so I uploaded the new csv doc to my server but it didn’t appear to fix it. 🙁
Huh. I cleared my cache, sure that was the problem, but the second table still isn’t sorting properly for me. I tried the second table in Chrome and Firefox and it didn’t sort properly in either…?
Actually, I just realized that table doesn’t need pagination so I got rid of “dom”: ‘lfrptip’, so now it’s just
"columnDefs": [ { "type": "date", "targets": 0 } ]
.Do I need to maybe update WordPress or something else? Do I maybe have old code somewhere that’s causing a problem? Is it possible that I modified some JS file in the past and it’s screwing things up now?

Thanks for the fast response, I love your dedication to your creation!
Okay, this is what I entered in the “Custom Commands” line and it’s still not sorting properly…?
"dom": 'lfrptip',"columnDefs": [ { "type": "date", "targets": 0 } ]
