 * Thanks for replying and for being curious about our experience. Here’s the #1
issue. I have been developing with Woo for ten years, often using 3rd party plugins.
On way too many occasions, getting any response, or an adequate response from
the plugin devs has been an issue. When that happens, the only backup is Woo
   support.
 * What’s confusing is that when you put in a ticket on the Woo site, it’s not disclosed
that Woo is not involved. That should be transparent, and #2, if you aren’t getting
support from the 3rd party, there is no obvious way to alert Woo as a backup.
I could put in a new ticket, but that just steals time and creates another ticket
number. Your support form drop-down needs a selection called, ‘3rd Party Dev
Not Responding’, so that we can loop you in.
 * Additionally, your support should not assume that you are the ticket holder and
go on a goose chase for an in-house ticket number. Your support personnel, of
all people, should know those tickets are going directly to the vendor.
 * I had to use an hour trying to figure out how to even contact Woo and ended up
using FB Messenger like it’s 2001.
 * The fact that you had to tell me to use: Presales on your support form indicates
a problem. How would I know that is the path forward after I have bought a plugin?
This is a UX issue. In my mind it’s not presale, so to choose non-conforming
selections on your support form makes me feel like a liar, and like I have to
cheat the system to get support. Not a good feeling.
 * You mentioned a Slack channel. Is that something I can join? I am on the Woo
Channel, but I’d like to be on the other, if possible.

 * You can’t add Local Pickup to a Zone, that’s the problem, and even if you could,
it would be a whole state, not a city. This is really a terrible impediment.
I will put in a feature request.

 * I finally got some action. It took way too long and I have no idea why Woo couldn’t
find my ticket in the system. A thoroughly frustrating experience.

 * All I can say is that it’s unbelievable that the block checkout was engineered
this way. It’s ridiculous to show local pickup to folks outside the state of
origin. Simple coding could check for the state they choose and have local pickup
   disappear.
 * I am not going to publicize my URL because it’s on a private server being developed
   and tested.

 * Thank you for hearing me. However, I don’t want to be heard and ignored.
 * It’s not a good user experience to be shown an offer then have it taken away.
That is a conversion nightmare. Nothing should be surfaced until qualifying data
is input. If you disagree, I would like you to explain the testing you have done
on checkout conversions when that gets taken away. The thing is, there is no
harm in waiting to surface that until they put in their data. But there IS harm
   when you take it away.

 * My shipping settings are:
–Default to customer shipping addy–Enable shipping
   calc on cart–Zone 1: USA | Flat Rate $50–Zone 2: Kansas | Local Delivery $25
 * You ask which zone local pickup is in — that is exactly the problem. It lives
by itself. When I make a zone and go to add Local Pickup to it, it says to manage
it on the Local Pickup screen, which does NOT allow you to put it in a zone.

 * More digging identified that the plugin **WooCommerce Anti Fraud** is causing
that selection in the UI to go blank. I will create a ticket with them.

 * Sorry for the delay, I was triaging another client’s store. Here’s the first
thing this all comes down to. I can’t this setting to stick.
   WooCommerce > General
   > Default custom location: “No location by default”
 * I chose it, and hit save, but when I scroll back up to check, it’s back to:
   Shop/Country Region
 * This is a setting that the docs say I can choose, but it’s not working. [https://woocommerce.com/document/configuring-woocommerce-settings/general/](https://woocommerce.com/document/configuring-woocommerce-settings/general/)

On that drop down, when I select any setting other than “No location by default”,
the setting words show when I go to save. But on “No location by default”, the
drop down is blank, so it’s like save nothing.
 * The UI is failing to apply that option.
 * The evidence is right here in the HTML:
    - `No location by default` exists as a valid option: `value=""`
    - the real select is still marked `selected="selected"` on `value="base"`
    - the visible Select2 control goes blank instead of switching to the empty-value
      option
 * So the bug is not “that option doesn’t exist.” The bug is: the enhanced drop
down is treating the empty-string option like null/nothing instead of a valid
   selection.

 * I dug around some more and think it may stem from another bug listed on this
   post [https://wordpress.org/support/topic/local-pickup-automatically-selected-by-default-in-block-based-checkout/](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/local-pickup-automatically-selected-by-default-in-block-based-checkout/)
 * I think this may be the root issue. Geolocation is already putting in Local Pickup
in the cart before I log in (account is required). It’s not displayed as a choice.
   The display looks hard-coded.
Shipment Free Shipping with Farm PickupShipping
to **KS**In back end settings, Woo won’t let me select and save: NO location
by default. If I select and save that, and go back up and check, it is stuck
at Sop Country/Location. I don’t know if I should move this ticket over to Woo,
   or keep it here.

 * I am the webmaster for this site. I don’t have any detailed history from the
owner except that people started complaining that they got a fatal error when
clicking the Add to Cart button. I think this is fairly recent. We are using
the latest free version of the plugin and the latest version of WP. I have screenshots
of the settings that I can share if there’s a secure place to share them.

 * I am using the latest edition. I get a modal that shows 6 block types and under
that is a black Browse All button. It’s not plugin dependent. We are building
a theme and when there were no plugins and nothing but page margins in the theme
it was like this. Maybe you don’t see them because your theme removes it.

 * Yes, Advanced Card Processing. I enabled the Smart Buttons as indicated and an
order was able to be processed by CC. Is there a downside to having those buttons
displayed? Will a permanent fix be in a future streaming update?

 * [@digitalapps](https://wordpress.org/support/users/digitalapps/) I would add
that if people were already on the page in question, on the back end, to remind
them to hard refresh the page AFTER updating the plugin. That makes the Block
Recovery thing appear. That’s what screwed me up, was not seeing it, because
I hadn’t thought to refresh the page.
I have to say that you are one of my favorite
devs, because you are so kind and responsive. You exhibit a spirit of gratitude
and team work. Thanks so much.
