To make sure, you may ask your client to see if sites with similar/identical content can be accessed by them.

In reply to: page edit problem?Not sure what exactly is causing the problem, but as you found out that the WordPress default theme with all plugins turned off do not pose any problems, either the theme is the culprit or the plugin(s). You need to look for what exactly it is by going back to the default theme and activate plugins one by one until you find out what exactly is causing the problem.

While you can achieve the desired look and feel for your site, it will neither affect your parent theme nor affect your site/theme while updating WordPress. In reply to: page edit problem?You can zero down to one plugin (possibly) and remove it. If both are troublesome, remove both. Then download fresh copies of them, install and activate and see if you still have problems.
