@kseaborn made a commit on 21 April for v7.3.15 to reactivate the plugin. But the plugin download page still has the temporary closure notice posted, and I’m not able to pull the most recent version into my WordPress installation as an update.
Is the update perhaps still working its way through some kind of moderation queue? Is there a way to check its progress through to the point when it might become active and upgradable again?

Hi all! I only found this thread thanks to @jdavidstark pinging me. I contacted WP and they told me that my email forwarder bounced and so they shut down the plugin. Now I cannot open it up until I modernize it, more or less. They gave me 100s of issues to resolve. This will take time and I have very little of it now. I’m sorry about this but please bear with me/us …
A new version 7.4 has been available in the SVN repository since June 8, but the notice about the temporary closure has not been removed from the plugin download page.
I hope that the bugs I sent in a letter to K. Seaborn on February 27 have now been fixed. I will test this.
Thanks and good luck everyone.

I’ve been trying to get in touch with the WP team for a while, but didn’t receive a response. I submitted 7.4 anyways. They may reject it. There were thousands of issues, and I wasn’t able to resolve 16 on their list. I don’t know what to do except wait and try to email again. Their email does say it may take time for them to respond … 🙁
Thanks so much, @kseaborn and @bsievers. It looks like the note has now changed slightly.
This plugin has been closed as of April 8, 2025 and is not available for download. Reason: Guideline Violation. (italics added)
I’m not sure if that indicates progress from WordPress.org’s side or not. Thanks so much for all your efforts @kseaborn.
Anything we can do to help get things unstuck? E.g., email to x address to prompt reviewers to work through your updates?

I really appreciate the support. I’m super keen to get Zotpress back on here. But I’m also conscious that bombarding a community of volunteers may not be the best tactic (as a member of that community …). I’ll keep following up by replying to the email they sent me with the history of the situation. They do note that it can take some time for them to get back. Surely someone will respond soon.

One idea for now … I know this isn’t ideal, and requires some tech savvy … but can you all access the link to download the plugin directly? If you have FTP access, you can then upload the folder in the zip file. I’d test this on a local machine first.

Hi Katie and all, I downloaded the plugin, installed it over the actual one (Plugins, Add Plugin, Upload Plugin) and it updated nicely. No FTP upload nor anything else is needed.
@kseaborn, fair point about (not) bombarding folks. Do let us know if there are any practical steps you think of that might prove helpful in moving things forward on WordPress’s end.
I’m closing this topic as it’s getting into conspiracy territory.
