  • The plug-in works well enough. But has two major issues.

    1) Very little user support

    2) The plug-in does not seem to support mobile responsive design.

    To be fair you’ve only waited a day for support. So by your reference to customers & this expectation of support, I would assume you’re paying for something? If you are, please be aware that you’re rating a plugin here that is distributed, maintained and supported for free out of people’s spare time. Not just talking about the author, you have as much to say for the WordPress community for not helping you. That’s just a harsh fact of volunteer-driven support. Sometimes you get help, sometimes you don’t.

    To be fair, none of the other support requests have been resolved either. So, what reassurance does that give me to get my questions answered either?

    Also, I’m not the only one who’s complained about lack of support. It would be fine if the support was a little slow. But – again, to be fair – looking at the other complaints and the whole string of other unaddressed support requests, it appears that such support is non-existent!

    I shall just go and find another solution and I will recommend that to everyone else who is contemplating using this useless plug-in!

    Just be aware that all plugin authors, for plugins distributed on, are not obliged to give support. The onus is more on the community to help out.

    I am hoping you don’t take this stance against every plugin that does not receive the support you expect.

    I actually have put a lot of time and effort into this plugin, and I still enjoy working on it (when I have the opportunity). Even considered getting it into the core plugins at one point.

    Unfortunately, for the WordPress community, I am on a time crunch working 10.5 hours a day in a new career and it leaves me exhausted with very little time left over, but i do read the posts. All of this is given freely to the WordPress community, and I do plan on working on it more. For the moment though, I have to focus on my life scenario with my career (which pays great) until I get to where i need to be in order to be stable. I’ve tried warning people before hand too.

    However, I have put this on GitHub to hopefully encourage other programmers to produce fixes, add tickets for me to work on for future releases, and produce a wiki that is open for the public to edit. Anyone is welcome to contribute to the plugin. I’ve also added tons of info/support into the plugin’s UI for users to look at, and added a lot of lines of notes for other programmers read through.

    For one person, this is quite a huge plugin which has turned out to be one of the most powerful plugins for the task it was designed for. Many others authors designing this type of design, like W3Posts & Kalin’s Post List (APL continued), have had to take long breaks from the WP community.

    I won’t try to enlighten you in any way until I know I have more time to work on it. All I can say is sorry for the issue(s). Which is why I have kept my distance instead of repeatedly saying ‘sorry’ for the time being.

    Furthermore, it’s quite harsh giving a poor rating and referring to people as ‘customers’ as if there is some sort of obligation. As well as a given short amount of time. This is an open source community and this is all given freely out of my own free time with very little in return. The support is here, but i need to be given time to focus on my own life.

    That is fair point, EkoJr. I see I was being somewhat harsh now, given your circumstances. I apologise for my seeming impatience. I am under my own time constraints to get a solution/fix to my issue. How can I find this plug-in on GitHub, for more support? Is there a direct URL?

    I wish you well in your career and hope it works out well for you and takes you to where you want to get to in your life. 🙂
