Zenfolio/Photonic issue – Ideas anyone?

    Not sure whats up. I am having trouble getting my gallery to show. Here is what I did.

    I have a Zenfolio group called ‘Limelight’. I installed Photonic. I created a page. On this page I have the shortcode:

    [gallery type='zenfolio' view='Limelight' style='strip-below' fx='fade' slideshow_height='500' columns='3' thumb_width='75' thumb_height='75' thumbnail_size='thumbnail' slide_size='thumbnail' timeout='4000' speed='1000']

    I also tried:
    [gallery type='zenfolio' view='Limelight']
    [gallery type='zenfolio' view='f436161866']
    &
    [gallery type='zenfolio' view='f436161866' style='strip-below' fx='fade' slideshow_height='500' columns='3' thumb_width='75' thumb_height='75' thumbnail_size='thumbnail' slide_size='thumbnail' timeout='4000' speed='1000']

    Page is blank when I view it. It DOES show the text I typed above the shortcode as a test however. Is there a place I am supposed to put in my Zenfolio ID?

    Well, the parameter you are passing for view is incorrect. Try the shortcode generator that you see when you click on “Add Media” – that should populate most of the fields correctly for you. Additionally take a look at http://aquoid.com/news/plugins/photonic/zenfolio/ for generic Zenfolio demos (including guidance on how to use the shortcode) and http://aquoid.com/news/plugins/photonic/zenfolio/photosets/ for demos specific to Zenfolio photosets.

    Also, bear in mind that the strip-below parameter and other “in-page” slideshows are available only for native WP galleries, not for Flickr/Picasa/500px/SmugMug/Zenfolio/Instagram galleries.

    Arrrgh. I used the ‘Add Media’ and still no avail. Its not populating anything and I am not sure of the parameters I am using. My Zenfoilio test group is here:

    The generated short code I get is:

    This works awesome under Flickr. Don’t know what I am doing wrong with Zenfolio however. :-/ Any ideas?

    The gallery works fine when I try it here: http://aquoid.com/news/plugins/photonic/zenfolio/groups/. I did drop the login_name, though. One thing that I noticed on your site is that your code abruptly stopped execution (your markup isn’t complete). Is it possible that you ran out of memory?

    scads of mem available. Just out of curiosity, on the settings page for photonic, is there anything I may be doing wrong on the Zenfolio tab? Do you have any suggestions of what I should be looking out for??

    Interesting. When I do a “View Source” for your page, here is what I see at the end:

    <h1>Test page</h1>
			<p>test</p>			<div class="entry">

    Everything after that is blitzed. If memory is not an issue, then something else is breaking at that point. I don’t know if it is Photonic, but if you can check your error logs that can help me troubleshoot the problem.

    Did you try removing the login name? You don’t need that anyway.

    I got the shortcode working on the demo page, so the problem has to be something else.

    LOL.. wow. I didn’t even think to view source. OK let me start troubleshooting. This looks like the solution is going to be something really dumb. ha ha. When I figure out what it is I will post a reply and close the thread.

    Hey Hey.. I just wanted you to know that I tested on a diff site/ diff server and still got a blank page for Zenfolio. Can you PLEASE tell me what you did to get the gallery to work on:

    What needs to be set on the Photonic settings page and what shortcode did you use? I must be doing something wrong…

    Here is what I have:
    [gallery type='zenfolio' view='group' object_id='f436161866' thumb_size='1' columns='3' ]

    My settings are pretty standard – I use Fancybox and Zenfolio in particular is not configured to have any funky options.

    The theme you see on the demo site is Suffusion, but I am able to see this on my local site with pretty much every theme.

    I’m having the same issue. Can you let us know where we are supposed to call in our Zenfolio UserID and Password or at least some way to call the site like you have for smugmug and the others. I’m not sure where to put this info. The shortcode generator works great but where in the world do I enter in my site.

    I am sorry, I did not follow you. Your site seems to work fine, right? Is your question about where you need to put in the user id and password? You don’t need to provide those because Zenfolio’s API doesn’t need them from you.

    You would need them if the plugin supported protected access, but that isn’t currently supported by Photonic.

    Gotcha… yea I just put the id in and it worked… it didn’t make sense at first but now it does.

    Oh is there anyway to speed up the loading process for the thumbnails?
