Zemanta Photo Credits?

  • I recently began using the Zemanta Editorial Assistant widget with my WordPress blog (which I haven’t launched yet). In the list of features it says photo credits are “added by default,” however I cannot see where that is occurring. Perhaps it is only necessary with certain photos, and the ones I’ve grabbed don’t need the credit? Ideally I’d like to credit all the photos. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • After further work I should update this post and limit my question to photo credits on photos set as featured photos, rather than simply photos inserted into a post. I’m having no issue with those photos being automatically credited. Thanks!

    Hi!
Featured images are a weird case since they can be used for variety of ways (inserted in the post, or just attached). When it’s inserted into a post we surely add the credits. We can’t account for how the site uses the Featured image though.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks so much! Are the crediting requirements the same for a featured image the same as an image inserted into a post? In other words, when I feature an image should I be manually crediting? Thanks again!

If you do not own the copyright on the image, then you should always seek permission and ascribe credit as appropriate for all images – featured or inserted.
