z-index images in div #logo

  • I have figured out how to use the z-index to layer images in the header area but whatI am having trouble with is getting two images which are tagged to the div #logo section of the header.
Because the one would cancell out the other – would it not.
    Example:
#logo : Z-index 9999, relative, image loaded into theme options as logo.
#gif : Z-index 500, absolute, sml animated gif – sit in the “middle”
    # logo: z-index 5, relative, same as image 9999 but has a cut out for the gif to animated through.
QUESTIONS: what position should index 5 be?
How does absolute effect other browser as the gif fits snug within layer index 5
Is there a better way of doing this that would be more compaible to all browsers and responsive devices?
Thanking you in advance for your expertise on this one.
