    I’ve seen Matt’s post on embedding Youtube videos you the following syntaxe:
    [youtube=http://youtube.com/w/?v=_dIya1aJJKA]
    It doesn’t work for me. I have rich editor turned of.
    Can anyone explain to me how I can get Youtube videos in my posts?
    Thanks

  • Instead of using:
    [youtube=http://youtube.com/w/?v=_dIya1aJJKA]

    You need to use this:
    <!–yt_video–>ID NO. Of Video<!–/yt_video–>

    An example would be:
    <!–yt_video–>tdUBFSbfPpA<!–/yt_video–>

    Hope this helps

    Or use Viper’s Video Quicktags plugin.

    yes thanks I got Viper’s plugin, very convenient

    Hmm
    <!–yt_video–>tdUBFSbfPpA<!–/yt_video–>

    doesn’t work, and viper’s video quicktags link is broken.

    It just displays
    tdUBFSbfPpA

    and the [] way doesn’t work either

    Whew.

    After all that – I figured it out.

    You can use the regular embed code from youtube if you just turn off the rich text editor! Argh..

    PS To turn off the editor, go to My Account, and at the very bottom there’s a checkbox under Personal Options… (not an entirely logical place imho)
