Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out about Custom Product Tabs Lite. I’m happy to help.
I apologize for the delay in replying to you!
I took a link in that you provided. It looks like you may be using a shortcode to add the YouTube video?
Could you confirm if that is the case?
I had the same issue – and yes using [embedyt][/embedyt] from Embed Plus YouTube WordPress Plugin
Rolled back to Custom Product Tabs Lite for WooCommerce Version 1.7.6 and all OK
Is this an issue you will be rectifying?
so in the latest changelog
2022.08.03 – VERSION 1.7.7
Fix – Sanitize input
means no longer supporting shortcodes?
and from
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/shortcodes-ultimate-31/
“After a recent update, support for shortcodes was removed from the plugin by default.”
Which implies it can be turned on, which of course there is no settings to do so.
No warning at all that this would happen – hmm
I already have an alternative with Booster but I would rather not have to go through 100s of products – so is this permanent?
Hi there,
Thank you for asking. That is correct, with the last update the functionality to use Short Codes was removed.
While this functionality is not currently available in Custom Product Tabs Lite, thank you for the feedback! I logged this as a feature request for our product team to take a look at. We really appreciate you letting us know what’s important to you!
While I can’t say when (or if) this will make it onto our development roadmap, I’d recommend keeping an eye on the changelog and our email newsletter for regular development updates.
I’m sorry I don’t have better news for you here! Is there anything else I can help out with?
Cheers,
Just to be clear you have removed, without warning, a feature that has been there from the outset of your plugin but then say “I can’t say when (or if) this will make it onto our development roadmap”. There is a certain irony in that.
I’ll present another irony in terms of your pricing for your pro version
WooCommerce Tab Manager $99.00 – basically attends to one task
Booster for WooCommerce, basically does much of what your pro plugin does and about 300 other tasks – currently $77.40
Cheers
Hi @nightl ,
I appreciate your feedback about this feature being removed without any warning. Thanks for letting us know that using the older version of the plugin brought the feature back for you.
I found more information about why this feature was removed. This was done as a protective measure in the most recent update to prevent malicious code from being injected into the text field. Running the previous version will allow your pasted code to run without escaping the dangerous characters. This will leave you at risk if questionable text is pasted into that custom tab field, but will allow it to run without doing a lot of custom HTML work yourself on the post. Could you let me know if this helps?
I am working with our product developers to let them know this is a feature our users would like to see re-added in a future release.
It is true that our Tab Manager plugin does include the feature you are looking for. If you decide to try it, we sell all plugins via WooCommerce.com, they’re also subject to the WooCommerce 30-day refund guarantee, so this gives you an opportunity to confirm that the plugin meets your needs and will work with your other plugins. You can always get a refund if not.
If you decide to use Booster for WooCommerce, could you let us know?
Thank you,
Jessica
