Support » Plugin: WP-Optimize - Clean, Compress, Cache. » Youtube thumbnail is blurry

  • Resolved roidna

I have a youtube video that is embedded using “iframe” to the side panel of all my posts. The thumbnail is blurry.

    I am using this code:

    <iframe class=”responsive-iframe” src=”; frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture” allowfullscreen></iframe>

I read on a different forum that the optimization could be causing the problem.

How can I fix this without harming optimization?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

@roidna Can you please try to add the url to “URLs to exclude from caching” from WP-Optimize > Cache > Advanced settings and check if it helps to fix the issue?

Thank you. I did. It did not work. But, then I deactivated the plugin, and the image is still blurred. So I guess it is not the plugin?
    Thanks again!

    Hi there,

The video thumbnail is added by Youtube, so you can’t control it from your admin, and no optimization plugin will have any effect on it. BUT its size and quality varies depending on the size of the iframe.

See the screenshots below where I change the height of the video using the browser dev tools:

As you see, Youtube adapts the thumbnail to what it “thinks” is necessary.

That was AWESOME. Thank you! I just changed the attributes to width=”100%” and height=”181px”. Of course I don’t understand why it worked, but I am glad that it did 🙂
    Thank you!
