Is the only way of properly viewing shortcodes in posts, such as the one in http://douglerner.net/?p=616 which contains the shortcode [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpcogSz8V5A?wmode=transparent%5D to use the Jetpack “Shortcode Embeds” module?

If I turn that module off, the video doesn’t display.

But if that module is on it causes Subscribe2 to send out black rectangles instead of simple NON-shortcode YouTube links.

    I know. Sounds confusing.

My basic problem is trying to get email notifications to work right. I can’t find a combination where everything works. It’s like one of those “pop up monsters” games at an arcade. You change one thing and another thing breaks.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    doug

Certain hosts block or disable links in emails that appear SPAM and they either remove the links, disable the links or block emails. That means it has something to do with the settings/ specs of your hosts. Did you check up with your hosts?

    Please look at this link:
    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-subscribe2-youtube-videos-in-html-notifications-are-just-a-black-square?replies=17.

It seems the same issue was put up by you and it was resolved. The dev. of Subscriber2 answered the questions, and your replies show that you fully understand the problem. Then what is the fun in repeating the question here? It AMOUNTS to a duplicate post.

    Krishna,

I’m afraid you are misinterpreting the post. (1) The issue was not resolved there and; (2) this post is a different question.

This post is specifically about how to view shortcodes in posts. It is not a duplicate post.

    Thanks,

    doug
