Every few days (2-3 days interval perhaps) the message “Your website is not ready for your selected regions yet.” keeps coming back and the indicator says 97%. There is a little red dot with “1” next to the plugin’s menu heading.

There are two tasks indicated when I go to the dashboard:

1 – Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control are not respected yet – (premium)
2 – Cookie changes have been detected. Please review step 2 of the wizard for changes in cookies.

I do not use the premium version, so I don’t understand why the first message is there.

As for message 2, I have not made any changes at all to the site, so I don’t understand what kind of “cookie changes” this refers to.

I continue scrolling through the setup process until I come to “1) Website information”, then the message disappears. Until next time, a few days later.

What do I need to do to get rid of this message permanently?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @bkwineper,

To dismiss all notifications you can enable “Dismiss all notifications” under Complianz > Settings.

    1. This message is displayed as legislation in certain regions (e.g. California) state that universal opt-outs must be respected.

    2. If desired, you can disable the automatic cookie scan by adding the following line to “wp-config.php”.

    define(‘CMPLZ_DO_NOT_SCAN’, true);

However, disabling all notifications as noted before will get rid of the message without halting the automatic scan.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi @jarnovos

Thanks for your very quick reply.

    But I don’t quite understand.

Are you saying that it is totally normal and as expected that this message pops up every few days?

I have changed nothing, since I last dismissed the message, so why does it come up again?

Sure, I can globally dismiss or block messages, but I’d rather have messages, since they can be important (I assume). But I don’t want to have messages that pop up for no reason, or at least not for any reason that I can see.

Having this kind of message that seems to have no logical reason and that just forces me to page through the setup pages – without making any changes – doesn’t seem to make sense to me. What’s the point of forcing the user to page through the setup without doing any changes?

I’d like to expand on the above: This notice appears when the plugin has found new cookies.

The cookie scan runs in the background when you are logged into your website. It often happens that, while working on the website, new cookies get placed. For example, if you go to your checkout, a cart cookie may get placed which wasn’t listed before.

If a new cookie is detected, the “new cookies detected” notice is activated, to notify users that they should check if the cookie information is correct. A sync with cookiedatabase may be necessary, or it is possible the cookie information is not listed in the cookiedatabase yet.

The other task about do not track won’t count in the percentage.

    Hi Rogier,

    Thanks for the clarification.

This puzzles me a bit though.

First, because the warning notice disappears as soon as I get to “Website information” in stage 1 of the setup wizard.

Secondly, because there is no dynamic contents or shopping cart or anything like that. It’s basically a fairly static broschure-ware site. There are of course Google Analytics and StatCounter, some YouTube videos and a few other things that I would regard as fairly standard and static (Elementor, optimisation…).

Is there any way to check which cookies are new so that I can understand what is going on?

And last question, when I come to the Cookie Scan page in the wizard, there are several options, “re-scan”, “clear cookies”, or simply skipping by clicking “next”. What would be the appropriate choice of action?

    Thanks for your support.
