Support » Plugin: ProfileGrid - User Profiles, Groups and Communities » Your web site can get hacked.

  • When activating this plugin, this shows the Dashboard on the left side after you have configured not to show the dashboard on widget and even if you don’t have your members sign in as a word press user. Even after you configure it their side it still showing the dashboard and your members is able to access your dash board and your Jack Pack and hack it. Customer service is not all that good.

    Hi,

I am sure there’s a misunderstanding here. ProfileGrid does not have any security flaws described by you in the review. User access depends upon how you have set up user roles and other settings. Nowhere does ProfileGrid displays dashboard on the left side. There’s no such feature coded in the plugin. Also it does not makes sense allowing users to sign in not-as-WordPress-users. All users registered on your site are recorded in your WordPress database unless you are using another plugin that handles user registration contrary to how WordPress does.

If non-admin users are able to access any plugin on your site’s dashboard, you need to contact the plugin developer to set access level/ capabilities for that plugin. ProfileGrid cannot modify access capabilities in the dashboard area. ProfileGrid only lets you modify access level of public facing site pages.

Additionally, before posting the review, you created a support request on forum which we responded with steps to troubleshoot the issue. We did not hear back from you after our answer. Not sure how that qualifies as ‘customer support not good’. Let me know if you were expecting something else from us there. If we can continue the conversation, our team will be more than happy to identify the issue for you.

Once again, we wish to strongly reiterate that the issue you described does not appears to be related to ProfileGrid, since ProfileGrid does not modifies the WordPress areas you are having trouble with. It appears another plugin/ code is interfering with your access levels.

    Kind regards.
