Upgraded to version 19.9 with wordpress 6.0.3 and it caused an error. Deactivate the plugin and the site is error-free.

  • Hi @tranxhdr,

Thanks for creating a new topic.

We are sorry to hear you’re website is experiencing a technical issue after updating to Yoast SEO v19.9. We know how concerning it’s when that happens. Let’s investigate this issue further and get to the bottom of this issue.

We tried to replicate that error in our testing environment but to no avail. Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

    Let us know the results.

I’ve switched to Rank Math. No problems with this seo plugin. Yoast SEO was good for the past few years but for whatever reason can’t resolve this current issue. Even updating to WordPress 6.1, still having the critical website error issue with Yoast SEO 19.9.

    Hi @tranxhdr,

We’re sorry to hear you’ve switched to another SEO plugin. The next version of our plugin (Yoast SEO v19.10) will include a fix for the problem you were experiencing. We initially weren’t able to reproduce the problem on our end because it only happens in combination with certain plugins that misuse meta box hooks.

If you prefer to stick with Yoast SEO (which is something we’d love), feel free to try out that version and let us know if the problem resolves for you.

Thanks and sorry again for the trouble caused!
