  • It’s because ryte can’t index your home page
    Ryte isn’t awesome like yoast !

    @lordsnake we’ve inspected your URL and can confirm that is indexable. It is possible that Ryte considers the homepage to be https://michaels.me.uk (without a trailing slash), which has a rel canonical to https://michaels.me.uk/ (with the trailing slash).

    The canonical tag means that the version without the trailing slash will not get indexed (because the version with the trailing slash will get indexed), which would explain why you are getting this warning.

    It is safe to ignore the warning, as your homepage is getting indexed correctly (with the trailing slash).

    I have the same issue, but I think what is wrong on our website, is that Yoast takes the version with the trailing slash into the sitemap while this version is being redirected to the version without trailing slash (and not vice versa), which has not been defined so by us, so it has to be an issue with the Plugin or with WordPress. As it is not good to have a 301 redirect in the sitemap, especially if it is the homepage, it would be great if you can give me a feedback on how to solve this issue.
