[Resolved] You Tube Video Knocks Out Mouse Wheel

  • When I scroll a page with a YouTube embedded video the mouse scroll wheel stops working. I have to move off the video to then scroll further down the page.

I know it’s only a small thing but I wonder if there’s anything to be done to stop that happening?

  • This is caused by the Flash plugin and there’s nothing you can do about it. Flash is more than just a video player — it’s a complete programming environment. Because of that, when it has the mouse focus it captures *all* key/mouse events and it doesn’t bubble them out to the enclosing browser window. As a result it kills scrolling (along with other things).

    I’ll leave it then

    Thanks
