Support » Plugin: Simple Custom Post Order » You made a mistake with that terrible dashboard nag panel

  • I like your plugin but installing an unremovable giant nag panel on every page of my wp-admin is way over the top. I had to hack your code to remove this infringement. I really hope this was a mistake and you repair this asap.

That “nag” screen is there until you enable the plugin to be used for any post type. If you just enable the plugin then it won’t do a thing until you select a post type to be used for and then it goes away.

We’ll keep that screen there because we received far more complains that say “plugin doesn’t work” when in fact users just didn’t select any of the post types.

If you have selected any of the post types and still this message shows, please let us know and we’ll look into it because it should go away when you actually start using the plugin.

Good to know that this was not intentionally. I adjusted my star rating. I will adjust it even more after the issue has been solved.

Well but then your plugin contains a bug, as it apparently doesn’t recognise the fact that a post type had already been checked on the settings page. I had installed the plugin a while ago and had checked one of the (custom) post types.

After the update to the latest version the ‘nag’ panel was shown, even though the post type was still checked on the settings page.

Even after I saved the settings page again, the ‘nag’ panel persisted.

    Hello @wpwebbouw,

Thank you for letting us know about this!
Could you please send us a couple of screenshots with this (the panel and settings page)?
As this does not happen on our end and a few screenshots would help.

    Thank you,
    Mihaela

    Hello @wpwebbouw,

We just released an update addressing this and added a button to dismiss that panel.
Please update and let me know how it goes.

Thank you for being so patient and understanding,
    Mihaela
