• What have you done?
You’ve ruined what was a brilliant plugin.
There is now a horrible wizard and despite all my attempts I just cannot get it work.
I implore you to revert to how it worked originally otherwise you will get more appalling reviews.

    Hi @rwassell,

We’re really sorry to hear about your experience. The update was meant to simplify the process, but we understand it hasn’t felt that way for you.

If you could share exactly what isn’t working or where you’re stuck, we’d really like to help fix it. Did you get a chance to reach out to our support team yet? I’m sure we can sort this out quickly once we know the details; we’ve already helped many users get things running smoothly again.

I’d really appreciate it if you could reply or reach out to the support so we can look into this for you.

    Best regards,

It is good of you to reply but you’re too late.
I don’t have time to do your testing for you.
I have uninstalled the plugin and do not intend to install it again.
If it helps, two notable areas – during the wizard it said something like ‘advanced options’, I click it but nothing happens and the other when it came up with the back-up path, it would not accept it as a valid path despite it definitely being a valid path on the server.
I uninstalled it, installed Updraft and that worked perfectly first time.
    Shame.

    Hi @rwassell,

Thank you so much for following up and sharing these details — really appreciate it.

For the first issue, I did a fresh install to test and couldn’t replicate the problem. The Advanced Settings section opened normally on my end (screenshot: https://shottr.cc/s/1Qin/SCR-20251106-foh.png), so it’s very likely a conflict that caused it on your setup.

Regarding the backup path, I assume you meant the Website Server destination (screenshot). At the moment, it’s not possible to store backups outside this folder when using the Website Server option. If you prefer to store them elsewhere, you can do that easily by choosing FTP as the destination.

I completely understand your frustration and wish your experience had been smoother. We’ve made a lot of progress lately and have many more improvements in the works. If you ever decide to come back, I’ll be here to personally help you get things running exactly how you want.

    Best regards,
