You do not have the correct permission
-
Since the latest update of the plugin something strange is happening.
When I add images in the backend by scanning the folder for new images, images are added but this is the message with every added image. You do not have the correct permission
That’s very strange because I’m logged in as admin and when trying to reach another backend page in a new browser tab I do have access to it.
Even doing it after a fresh login does give this message, so it’s not the duration of login which is the problem. The final result is that the thumbnails in the backend are not created.
-
And when creating the thumbnails with the dropdown function on the page I’m completely logged out with this message
A failure occurred
And the login form beneath this message for every “not” created thumbnail appears
To login again I’ve to delete the cookies from the site. Or use another browser.
Seems like deactivating all plugins and reinstalling nextgen-gallery and then activating all of them solved these issues
And the problems are back after adding some images again, so this is not resolved
When I tried this in another browser (Chrome instead of Safari) this is the message after a while making thumbnails
Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit. Cookie /n
The Server setting is
LimitRequestFieldSize 65535
This should be enough 😉
Somehow a cookie gets corrupted making thumbnails and the consequence is I get logged out so making the thumbnails fails
@vakantie Ameland – I believe this may have to do with a very large cookie being created which we are looking into as it is a very rare issue that needs some in-depth review to sort out. Unfortunately I do not have an ETA for this to be corrected at this time …

Yeah seems like it. In both the reverse proxy server and web server I now have put these variables to prevent header troubles, so there is no header issue because of server settings.
LimitRequestFieldSize 65536 ProxyIOBufferSize 65536
Still the error appears after some time creating thumbnails, even after disabling all other plugins so there must me something in the nextgen-gallery creating the cookie. Hope you find the culprit.
Best wishes and happy new year 2016
@vakantie Ameland – We are getting closer to sorting this out …
… thanks, and a very Happy and Prosperous New Year to you, too!

With the update to 2.1.23 the
Bad Request
message is goneStill there is
You do not have the correct permission
andA failure occurred
@vakantie Ameland – What are the specifics of those messages?
– Cais.
When making 50 new thumbnails
You do not have the correct permission
occurs after a while on 2/3 of the processAnd then when trying to complete the rest this message occurs
Unexpected Error
and then I’m logged outI have to remove the cookies and login again
@vakantie Ameland – Still sounds like a resource limit is being hit … we’re still working on the cookie issue which might be involved with your site’s specific issue as well.
– Cais.
Well the cookie problem is still there, I can only see it in Chrome, in Safari I just get logged out. A lot of X-Event cookies are stored when making thumbnails or scanning folder for new images
Even increasing these parameters does not solve the issue
LimitRequestFieldSize 131072 ProxyIOBufferSize 131072
@christianebuddy – We are still looking into the cookie issue and may have it resolved for the next release of NextGEN Gallery … unfortunately at this time, the only work-around we have seen have some moderate success is to clear the browser cookies each time this happens.
