• I tried to fix this some time ago and just gave up. Can’t find answer.
First I upgraded and everything seemed fine but then suddenly I was locked out of admin.
You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

I’m back at it trying to fix it. None of the links work. The front page is up but any link you try goes to a 410 gone error. I click on admin and I get the permissions thing.

I’ve tried re-uploading, re-installing…can’t find out what the problem is. Help!

Never mind. I deleted the whole site, reuploaded an older version and now I can’t get installed. Just getting 500 error. I’m about to give up entirely.

I have upgraded a lot of WP sites to 3.04 with no trouble, but on one, just one, I had the same trouble as described above. I get the “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page” when I try to access the wp-admin area. I have tried renaming the plugins folder and disabling the child theme.

Can someone remind me where in the database I would go to reset the Admin authority?

I found my issue. This was the only site I had rigged to share a user table with another site. I had to handle that issue. All well now.

Not me. I’m staying as far away from the latest upgrade, as I can get. I have 3.01 up and running. Don’t know what happened when I tried to upgrade but it’s not happening again.

I searched through everything on this site and never got any help.

By staying with 3.0.1, your site will have at least 2 (3?) potential security issues.

Who is your host? What is the address of the site?

The site is hosted by yahoo and the address is http://judysbookshop.com/blog

I may try upgrading again but I’m nervous about it. Why it broke this site, I don’t know because I have others in sub-directories that did just fine.

Awesome site. Very interesting. I wish I knew enough to help more. I see your site is working with the older version of the code. Keeping your WP and all your plugins updated is helpful for better security. Otherwise you become more vulnerable to hackers and spammers.

Thank you so much 🙂 I’ve been empire building for a few years now. As for spammer and hackers, I finally got furious enough I went back to college to learn everything there is to know about computer language. I hate it when they pull off stuff I don’t understand.
