You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page

    This is an established site where I have simply lost my admin password.

    I have changed the password via
    the emergency.php method and by the myphpadmin table change putting in an MD5 encrypted password and also used the create a new password method.

    But when I try to login with mydomain.co.uk/wp-admin, I just get the above message “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page”

    Could be the site has been hacked as it has really large traffic data.

    Any ideas?

    Sorry for confusion. Of course I substituted
    mydomain.co.uk for the real domain URL in this post.

    Try clearing your browser history (cache and cookies). I sometimes encounter this error after making changes to a site and that usually resolves the problem for me (unless something else was changed).
