Support » Plugin: WP Google Maps » You can’t re-edit your API.

  • For reasons unknown it’s not working with the APIs anymore. I followed the links, created several APIs, none of them worked. Either Google has restricted their APIs, or this tool just doesn’t care about that anymore. A couple instructions may be helpful why the API is not working.

    Hi there

Thank you for getting in touch, sorry to hear you’re experiencing issues with the plugin.

You can alter your API key through Maps -> Settings -> Advanced.

Google have recently changed their API policy and all users are now required to set up billing. You can set up your quota and usage limits so that you aren’t actually billed, however it is mandatory that you set this up or you’ll see a message stating “The map can’t load properly”, and “Development purposes only” on the map tiles.

If you could provide the URL to your map page we can tell you specifically what the problem is, would that be possible?

    Kind regards
    – Perry
