For some reason Yoast SEO plugin is putting the title of my first post on my homepage instead of the Site Title. Can’t figure out what is going on.

Also, on the Title page of plugin,
    “Homepage & Front page
You can determine the title and description for the front page by editing the front page itself ».” The link for “editing the front page itself».” just re-opens the same page. 🙁

  • Go to Settings > Reading and make sure you have either “recent posts” or “static page” actually selected.

It’s possible neither is selected, and the plugin will not pick up those pages to rewrite titles.

I don’t see those options under: Settings > Reading
This is all the info on that page:
Blog pages show at most posts
Syndication feeds show the most recent items
For each article in a feed, show
For each article in a feed, show

    Full text
    Summary
Encoding for pages and feeds The character encoding of your site (UTF-8 is recommended, if you are adventurous there are some other encodings)

I think Yoast saw the post because the problem corrected itself today.
