    Hello,

I am hoping you can help me.

I have been using the Yoast plugin and recently tried to use the social share section on the backend of the single post pages so that it tidy’s up social sharing images etc.

However, I am having real problems getting the social sharing for Twitter to work. It works fine with Facebook but for some reason it will not use the text or image I provide in the plugin for Twitter and instead seems to default to the featured image and google meta data.

    The page is https://www.techsnail.com/how-to-scan-on-iphone/

I tried looking at the source code to see if something was obvious but I can’t understand what is happening or what action I should take to correct this issue.

    Best Chris

We understand you are concerned with social sharing for Twitter not working as expected. We can see how this might give you pause. We are happy to take a look! Let’s see what is going on.

We checked the page source of the given example page https://www.techsnail.com/how-to-scan-on-iphone/ and do see Yoast SEO has outputted all required Open Graph meta tags as expected.

Next, inspecting the URL via Twitter Card validator also shows the correct image on the preview as you can see this screenshot for reference: https://prnt.sc/1c6ast8

In this manner, we expect Twitter sharing should work without issue.

Please try again by clearing all your caching from your theme, plugin, server, CDN like CloudFlare or browser. If you are not sure how to clear caching from theme/plugin please speak to those authors. If you want to clear cache from the server, please speak to your host provider. To clear the cache from a browser use this guide: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-clear-my-browsers-cache/.

We hope this helps! Should you have any other questions or concerns, do let us know.

    Hi Suwash Kunwar

Thank you for looking at this for me.

However you said “Next, inspecting the URL via Twitter Card validator also shows the correct image on the preview as you can see this screenshot for reference: https://prnt.sc/1c6ast8”

The image shown is not the correct image on your link and nor is it importing the correct text from the plugin it is acting as if the Yoast plugin does not exist and not pulling the data/image from it.

The correct image and data that I want to show in Twitter is shown on the below link so you can see the difference.

    Thank you in advance.

Can you please verify this new screenshot– https://tinyurl.com/yk56hxqz as now it seems we’re getting the correct preview image, title, and description as per the input details shown in your screenshot https://www.techsnail.com/yoast/?

In any case, please xlear all your cache from your theme, plugin, server, CDN like CloudFlare or browser. If you are not sure how to clear cache from theme/plugin please speak to those authors. Hello, I just wanted to say thank you for your time. Clearly the cache was playing a role as no settings have been changed since we first spoke and the correct image and text are now displaying.

I just wanted to say thank you again. Your help was fast, efficient and professional.
