[Yoast SEO] Exclude custom post type from breadcrumbs

  • Hi WordPress Support Forum!

I recently encountered a problem with the Yoast Breadcrumb module in his otherwise brilliant SEO plugin.

I have the current main menu lineup:

Home (page) – About (page) – Portfolio (custom post type category) – Blog (category) – Contact (page)

In the blog part of the website the breadcrumbs work perfectly!
    i.e
Home > Blog (links to category) > Postname

however when you view a portfolio item the breadcrumb breaks and does the following:

Home > Portfolio (links to the custom post type) > Portfolio (links to the custom post type category) > Postname

The first portfolio link is wrong and shouldn’t be there, since I use the custom post type category to display the post, not the post type it self.

So i was wondering if any of you have a way to remove the custom post type from the breadcrumbs so it only shows the post your are in’s category.

    Thanks in advance 🙂
