Yoast SEO does not know what it wants…
-
hi there
yoast seo (free edition) shows me both cases as a problem (with a red dot):
– “Die Bilder auf dieser Seite besitzen kein alt-Attribut.”
(“The images on this site don’t have an alt-attribute.”)vs.
– “Die Bilder auf dieser Seite enthalten ALT-Attribute”
(“The images on this site have an alt-attribute.”)What is better now?? 😉
Best regards,
Jan

In order to better assist you, we’ll need more information. Can you please explain the issue you’re experiencing step by step? Please, include a screenshot in your reply on which you highlight the issue you’re experiencing so that we can take a look.
Can i send you a private message, because it don’t want to make the project public yet…?
The html tag is
<img src="/wp-content/uploads/..." />
vs.
<img alt=”NA” src=”/wp-content/uploads/…” style=”border: 1px solid #000000; max-width: 85%; object-fit: contain;” />
That’s all i can say at this place.
Regards,
JanHi Jan,
Thanks for sharing the HTML snippet with us. It seems that you are adding correctly an alt tag to your image, as suggested by Yoast SEO. Does your alt-attribute include the focus keyword?
Additionally, are you getting this message as an improvement in the analysis tab, or as Good? If so, please attach a screenshot (you can remove the private data from it).
We’re looking forward to your reply.
Hi Marius
Sry. the first tag (without alt=”NA”) was modificated after submit. The correct one is:
<img alt="NA" style="border: 1px solid #000000; max-width: 85%; object-fit: contain;" src="..." />
vs.
‘‘
What is the “focus”-keyword? The value i use is just “NA”, for “not available”…
Yes, i get this message as an improvement in the analysis tab.

There is a problem between the forum software and the img-tag WITHOUT alt=”” (after “vs.”)
I declared both of them as “code” in the wysiwyg-editor…?
Regards, Jan
Problem is also with the new version 6.2..
Regards, Jan@jmar83 In regards to your question about a focus keyword, the focus keyword is the keyword you have optimized the page for. To input a focus keyword you would need to perform the following actions:
-
Login to your WordPress
Go to the Edit screen of a page/post
Scroll down to the Yoast SEO Meta Box
Click on the ‘Enter your focus keyword’ tab
Enter the keyword you want to set for the page/post
Click ‘Update’We also have a guide on choosing a focus keyword for your page/post at the following link: https://yoast.com/focus-keyword/
Can you please try setting a focus keyword for the page in question, and then using the focus keyword in the image alt tag, and letting us know how this shows in the SEO analysis for the page?
Hi devnihil
Oh, now i understand, thank you for your feedback. First, i meant a “focus keyword” is something specific to img-tag’s alt-attribute…;)
OK, i will try is a soon as possible
Regards,
JanHi,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Once you add a focus keyword, please do let us know if you continue to receive any notifications or messages from the Yoast SEO meta box regarding the alt attributes and if the focus keyword is contained in that alt attribute for the image.
Please feel free to add screenshots as well.
After i defined a “focus keyword” for my page (start page of the website), and the img-tag’s alt-attribute is still “NA” (=NOT the “focus keyword”), then i get the following message:
“The pictures on this site don’t contain alt-attributes with the focus keyword”
(Original German text: “Die Bilder auf dieser Seite enthalten keine alt-Attribute mit dem Fokus-Keyword”)
If i remove the img-tag’s alt-attribute, then i get the following message:
“The images on this site don’t have an alt-attribute.”
(Original German text: “Die Bilder auf dieser Seite besitzen kein alt-Attribut.”)
If the img-tag’s alt-attribute contains the same value as the “focus keyword”, the improvement message (with the orange dot) is gone…
…i think this case is the optimal one? 🙂
regards,
janThanks for following up with us. The Yoast SEO analysis is working correctly as expected. The focus keyword needs to be matched exactly with the image
alt
attribute.Thank you very much!! 🙂
