Without further investigation, we could not say for sure what the reason might be. However, one of the most common reasons for this issue is a low maximum memory limit.
Please try increasing the maximum memory limit and let us know if the issue persists.
If you are already using 128M, try increasing it to 256M, as the memory consumption can vary on any site for a large number of factors including other plugins, themes, and the site’s optimization settings.
Hi Marius,
Thanks for your message !!
The memory limit is already 1024M. Shall in increase it to furthermore or could there be any other possibility ?
Thanks
Can you please confirm whether you’re using a server optimized for WordPress correctly. If yes, can you try and gather as much information for us as possible? Please perform the following:
1. Make sure the issue doesn’t persist when Yoast SEO is disabled.
2. Check for conflicts.
3. Check for JavaScript errors with your console.
If you find any JavaScript errors related to Yoast SEO or if there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a new GitHub issue for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.
If you didn’t find any conflicts or errors, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I investigated the console and only found the below in there:
common.js:237 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot set property ‘onclick’ of undefined
at common.js:237
VM328:1 Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token < in JSON at position 4
at JSON.parse (<anonymous>)
at a.saveParsedShortcodes (wp-seo-shortcode-plugin-703.min.js:1)
at a.<anonymous> (wp-seo-shortcode-plugin-703.min.js:1)
at i (jquery.js:2)
at Object.fireWith [as resolveWith] (jquery.js:2)
at y (jquery.js:4)
at XMLHttpRequest.c (jquery.js:4)
Looks like a conflict in wp-seo. It doesnt happens when Yoast SEO is not enabled.
Any suggestions here ?? Much appreciated for the help.
Thanks
Does the slowness issue and the error occur while all the non-Yoast plugins are disabled and the default 2017 theme is active on your site?
Well I will answer it in this way, with the other plugins activated along with Yoast, the site slows down, and once i deactivate the Yoast, the site works perfect with other plugins and my activated theme.
So i guess its definitely something in the Yoast which is getting conflicted. I hope this answers your question.
Please suggest.
@pacifik87 We apologize for any inconvenience. The issue you are experiencing is a known bug and is planned to be fixed in the next Yoast SEO v7.1 release. We are expecting this release to be on the next Thursday.
Looking forward for that updated version.
