Yoast SEO – Auto generate meta descriptions for cats and tags dont work

    @gabatek

    WordPress version: 3.5.1
    WordPress SEO version: 1.4.7

    I did this: I’ve trying to auto generated the meta description for the categories as well as the tags. I tried adding %%excerpt%% %%page%% for both to avoid duplicate meta descriptions. I dont get any meta description, but the title and the keywords actually follow the rules (%%XX%%). I tried installing the developers version but it seems like nothing change. I disable all plugings, but no luck.

    I expected the plugin to do this: Auto generated the meta description for the categories and tags.

    Instead it did this: Doesnt autogenerate the meta descriptions when I put %%excerpt%% %%page%%.

    Thank you.

    Hello there,
    I use this and it works prefectly:

    %%sitename%% + %%term_title%%

    In that way you could auto display any sentence with the name of your site and the title name you’ve set to any category.
    It will not work if you have manually inserted a meta description.

    Also note that you should not go over the 156 chars, if you want to remain SEO friendly.

    Cheers!
