    Hi there,

When i try to change the Meta information on the SEO snippet in our blog, an error message shows. I can add letters, but not use the back button to remove any. When I do, a red line appears and says something went wrong.

Any idea what is causing this?

    Thanks,
    Oli

    Hi @oliongnichs,

    Thank you for reaching out!

Hmm, that sounds odd and unexpected. I did have a look on your site and see you are running an outdated WordPress and Yoast version. In this case, we would recommend taking a site backup and updating both WordPress and your plugins/theme(s) including Yoast SEO and check if the issue persists. If it does, the next step would be to check if you can find any Javascript errors in the browser console to be able to find the cause of this.

Thanks for getting back to me. Please could you recommend the best way to perform a site backup?

If you aren’t sure how to make a backup, you may want to check with your hosting provider to see if they offer a backup option as many do. If they don’t there are also a large number of WordPress plugs for creating backups which you can find here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/backup/.

Also, we have a guide on making a backup of your WordPress site at the following link: https://yoast.com/help/how-to-backup-your-wordpress-site/
