Please clear your browser cache a couple of times, this seems to solve 95% of the reported issues.
Depending on your operating system all you need to do is the following key combination:
Windows: ctrl + F5
Mac/Apple: Apple + R or command + R
Linux: F5
@tacoverdo @probelalkhan
I am having the exact same problem. I installed the new version of Yoast SEO and the update today.
The new version took away my ability to:
use the visual editor
add tags to the Tag box
see any Yoast information below the editor box
The update to the new version failed to restore these abilities.
@tacoverdo Please restore all previous editing abilities to the new version of Yoast SEO. Please give people options. Please do not tell them that must add tags in a completely new area or that they must edit their post in a completely new area. Give them the option to do both please.
I have deleted the new version of Yoast SEO and switched back to version 2.3.5. Everything is working again. All editing abilities have been restored.
Please restore them in the new version of Yoast SEO via an update.
Thank you.
That’s the exact functionality I lost WebmasterT
So are you saying that clearing the browser cahce won’t work when this functionality is what has been lost? If I do it, do I lose all the saved passwords and everything else?
Is deleting Yoast the better solution? and then trying to reinstall an old version (not sure I know how to do that)
Or is simply a case of pressing Ctrl + F5 and hoping for the best
@webmastert: If you require assistance then, as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic instead of tagging onto someone else’s. All you are currently doing is creating confusion.
“So are you saying that clearing the browser cahce won’t work when this functionality is what has been lost?”
It won’t work. I tried it.
“If I do it, do I lose all the saved passwords and everything else?”
“Is deleting Yoast the better solution? and then trying to reinstall an old version (not sure I know how to do that)”
I didn’t lose any of my settings.
“Please clear your browser cache a couple of times”
A couple times? That makes no sense. Why is a couple times any more effective than once?
Well suitably assured that ctrl +f5 wouldn’t cause me to lose any settings, I felt obliged to give it a whirl. Suffice to say, it seems to have worked (funny old things these computers aren’t they!)
Tried to mark it resolved but it told me to “slow down I’m moving too fast” – I feel better now, no one has ever accussed me of that before!
Thanks for your feedback @melpomene. Marking this thread as resolved.
CMD-R or F5 etc don’t clear the browser cache? That’s done from a menu item, they just reload the page
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘status’ of undefined
The same as above, only lost the functionality of other metaboxes and your metabox is not working or analyzing anything.
Hi when I’m using number in the field focus keyword plugin doesn’t recognize that as word. Why is that?
