Is it possible to remove the slug (to have no slug) on a static WordPress Homepage? OR is this a limitation / conflict with the Yoast SEO Plugin?…Site URL = WP Homepage URL

My goal is to have NO slug on the homepage and related search results/snippets. However as many threads have noted, clearing the Yoast homepage slug does not save as the slug gets renamed back to the page title and clearing the homepage title entirely, results in a slug that is renamed -2.

Is there any way to set things up to see just the “URL” never the “URL /slug” in search results or is this not possible with a WordPress/Yoast website?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. At this moment, Yoast SEO has no option to disable the slug field in the meta box. However, a feature request is currently open in our development team for this. So, this will be available in a future version of Yoast SEO plugin.

    Closed. No further concerns.

I second that thanks. I just installed Yoast and it’s bugging me with the same issue. Curiosity made me coming looking for this answer. Seems silly to noodle with the home page’s url.
