Hi Yoast Team,
Greetings from Japan. Love your stuff, and recommend it for all my clients.
But I am having a problem with one of my clients. Their URL Slugs are in Japanese (created from Titles). When Yoast generates the Post-Sitemap, the URLs go from readable Japanese to some kind of Mojibake (expanded Unicode variation). The URLs are still functional, but unreadable.
For example, for the blog article at:
Has an entry in the Post-Sitemap as:
Normally, I would not care so much about this issue, but there are 2 problems that stem from this.
1. All the URLs in our sitemap are essentially unreadable. So we can’t confirm entries in the sitemap.
2. Google Search Console does not recognize these URLs are different. It reports this URL as “Indexed, but not in the SiteMap”.
Note sure if this is a bug in the encoding Yaost uses for Sitemaps, or if it is a user error.
The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]
