Your plug-in keeps crashing my site- when I uninstall and reinstall it still crashes so the advise from WP didn’t work (ie to uninstall and reinstall) as everytime I reinstall it crashes my site. I’ve used the free plug in ~ 2 years and never had a problem until 7/31 when your recent upgrade to 14.6.1 crashed my site and continues to crash it

    Please help- details below:

@rosecody Can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.4.2? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/

If you update to the most current version of WordPress, does this resolve the issue?

If the issue is still occurring after confirming both Yoast SEO and WordPress are updated, this may be due to a plugin or theme conflict. Can you try and gather as much information for us as possible? Please perform the following:

    1. Make sure the issue doesn’t persist when Yoast SEO is disabled.
    2. Check for conflicts.
    3. Check for JavaScript errors with your console.
If you find any JavaScript errors related to Yoast SEO or if there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a new GitHub issue for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.

If you didn’t find any conflicts or errors, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.

yes I have WP version 5.4.2 and as mentioned in my original post which included the error message (again inserted here for your convenience), once I delete your free version of YOAST plug-in my site comes back to life. However I want to use YOAST and have used the free version for ~ 2 yrs without issue, the issue started when you just released your update!

using your checks as outlined above, no issues are logged when I ‘check for conflicts’
See error message below and please advise as to how to fix? thanks!

@rosecody If you are still experiencing the error even with a default theme (such as TwentyNineteen) and no other plugins active except for Yoast SEO, can you please check whether the error occurs when updating to the 14.7 release of the plugin?

well, I just noticed YOAST issued another update today, 14.7 as you mentioned.

So I installed and viola! It actually works and doesn’t crash my site!! thank you YOAST for fixing the bugs from the 14.6.1 release you launched a few days ago!
