Yoast breadcrumb functionality broken in version 12.8.1
-
The breadcrumbs functionality in Yoast is truly broken.
All of my websites use the Phlox theme. Phlox uses Yoast to implement/display its breadcrumbs.
My websites include a hierarchy of three page levels. My websites also include a hierarchy of levels of categories, for posts.
With Yoast 12.8 (and previous versions), the breadcrumbs for the pages, categories and the home page all behaved exactly as expected.\
Unfortunately with Yoast version 12.8.1, the following problems now exist:
1] three different breadcrumb-separator characters are displayed, depending on the context (one for categories, a different one for pages within a hierarchy, and a third one for pages not in a hierarchy);
2] the breadcrumb path/trail for the categories now additionally displays the breadcrumb named “Blog” (despite the fact that “Blog” is not specified anywhere on my website) and the target of the “Blog” breadcrumb is the “Home” page (and “Home” is already in the breadcrumb trail — so the “Blog” link is in addition to that).
Because of this, the breadcrumbs on all of my websites are broken. 🙁
Is there a target date for when this will this be fixed?
