Support » Plugin: Yoast SEO » Yoast & ACF Conflict

  • Resolved Rayskin

I can’t pin point when exactly this started. But in the last few weeks a bug has emerged that’s affecting multiple WordPress sites that I manage.

    WordPress Version: 5.5.3
    ACF Version: 5.9.3 Pro
    Yoast Version: 15.2.1

In short. When you add new fields to ACF. Any page that already existed will no longer work with Yoast. The Yoast box is present on the edit page. You can add content to it. If you save and reload the content is still there in the Yoast box. But the meta data will not display on the front-end. It will instead show the default Meta Title, “Page Name | Site Name”. And no meta description.

If you then create a new page after a field in ACF was made. That page will work with Yoast.

I’ve been able to replicate this on three different websites.
