MailChimp says that about 170 or so of my 210 or so list have all unsubscribed at EXACTLY the same date and time…

A MailChimp campaign was not sent out around this time.

So seems like there are two options:
    1) MailChimp unsubscribed them?
    or
    2) The AutoChimp plugin unsubscribed them?

The only thing via searches I see is a Drupal MailChimp-sync plugin (perhaps similar to AutoChimp) running into this issue and finding a resolution. (Something about when a chron job was run there was a bug that triggered unsubscribes.)

Regarding any other types of changes during this time: I can’t recall if my upgrade to WordPress 3.8 for this site was during that same date or not. It’s a possibility.

Am running AutoChimp 2.02 as advised because my client’s host is running php 5.2.

    Has anyone come across this?

    Thanks.

Also, if this is helpful info: 100% of the 210+ or so subscribers subscribed via the Autochimp WordPress syncing process:

    1. became members of the site (using S2Member membership plugin)
    2. Autochimp syncs them to MailChimp list.

There is no other direct subscribe form promoted.

The full 210 or so members are still users inside WordPress.

    Thanks.

Ok, I think I may have figured out what may have happened: admin error!

I had a localhost dev version of the live production site running, managed users locally, and I’m assuming the plugin still was communicating with MailChimp even in a local/dev server environment.

So many dif. settings, I had forgotten about that syncing functionality and didn’t figure it was still syncing from localhost.

    Human error. Lesson learned.

If this sounds like it may NOT be the cause after all, please chime in – but this is my best guess.

    Thanks.
