• So sick of these plugins pretending to free, but once you have wasted time installing and configuring you realise they are not free at all.
Be honest and people like me wont give you 1 star ratings.

There’s no pretending with EWWW IO, but free (server-based) mode doesn’t work on all web-hosts and all servers. We have a list of known working web hosts here (but there are plenty of others I’m sure): https://docs.ewww.io/article/43-supported-web-hosts

For the cases where server-based compression doesn’t work, we provide unlimited free lossless JPG compression via our API. You can literally compress a million images and we won’t stop you.

There are other (cheap) alternatives if you really need WebP and free mode doesn’t work. You can get an API key from us for $3 (less with available discounts) and convert unlimited images to WebP (we have lots of folks that use this option).

You could also try the WebP Express plugin. In addition to integrating with our API, or using a cwebp binary like EWWW IO does, I believe it also has options to use the built-in WebP support provided by the ImageMagick (imagick) and GD libraries in PHP.
Using the built-in libraries with PHP is an option that we’re looking to implement within the next few months because it would allow more folks to use EWWW IO for free WebP conversion.

Thanks for your feedback, and hope you find what you’re looking for!

@nosilver4u I just want to say that your reply was very constructive and supportive, and it demonstrated professionalism. Keep up the great work!
