YARRP issues with custom fields and Yoast SEO

Having an issue where if I don’t have a meta description (with YOAST SEO) on a page my Advanced custom fields don’t work.

IF I disable YARPP this fixes the issue.

I assume something that having a meta description added in Yoast is fixing an issue with the YARPP plugin, but I’m not sure exactly what that issue would be.

Any ideas?
