    Hi,

Have installed the Yoast SEO plugin – have used it on many sites and never seen this issue before.

When I try to view my XML sitemap I get this error:

This page contains the following errors:
error on line 10 at column 61: Opening and ending tag mismatch: html line 0 and loc
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

My site has approximately 15-20 pages. But when I look at the source code there are over 11k entries.

    How can I fix this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @danbrooks,

Thanks for creating a new topic.

First of all, please make sure you’re running the latest version of the plugin: Yoast SEO v14.1. If you’re already up-to-date, we’d recommend you check the following:

    • XML sitemaps are enabled under SEO > General > Features
    • You’re not running any other sitemap plugin on your website
    • There aren’t any physical XML sitemap files in your server

Let us know if the problem resolves.

    Hi,

Have done all of the above and still getting the same issue.

It seems that the index.php file and a small number of .txt files within /wp-includes are corrupt.

@danbrooks We rechecked the sitemap URL and it appears you aren’t using the Yoast SEO plugin to generate the sitemap anymore, so we are going ahead and marking this issue as resolved. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.
