Getting a 404 error when I try to pull up the sitemap with Yoast, checked with my web host and they tell me it hasn’t been created by the plugin. How to get this created by Yoast? I don’t see any option to do this, I’ve gone through all the configurations, and everything looks fine otherwise. Their documentation blames poor theme development, and there is no sunot too sure about that one, I need more specifics, as in, what did they do or not do in order to prevent a sitemap to be created? Any advice on this?

oops, didn’t finish, there is no support unless you buy it, and I’m not going to buy unless I know it’s preforming as expected.

Sometimes resetting the permalink structure will quickly solve a 404 error from a recent change to your installation. Go to Admin → Settings → Permalinks and click save without altering anything. (How to Guide available here.)

Thanks, that was the first thing I did, along with other recommendations from Yoast. No results. I went ahead and generated my own sitemap from an external service and uploaded it to my domain files. I’m perplexed why Yoast could not achieve this.

    Hi,

We are not sure why the Yoast sitemaps were unable to be generated on your specific site. The only other solution we can offer here is to perform a conflict check as there may be another plugin or theme affecting the creation of the Yoast sitemaps. This guide explains more: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/.

If you didn’t find any conflicts or errors after performing the check, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.

If, however, you are satisfied with creating your own sitemaps we understand too.
