XML Import appears to have no Effect on WordPress Blog

    I am completely new to WordPress. I am using an XML file export from a client’s previous web developer to import to a new installation of WordPress. Having (seemingly) got around a problem with WXR file types the import runs (apparently successfully) but has no effect on the WordPress Blog. It remains and looks to me to be a completely Virgin WordPress installation. Has anyone got any ideas what could be going wrong?

    Have you tried checking the server’s error logs?

    Thanx for ur quick response esmi … I will check the logs tonight when I am back at my PC

    Have looked at log … A mass of information … But obviously the XML file is being run. I installed WordPress in a sub directory to the public_html folder …. /wordpress…. do you think this might be the problem? I.e. the XML file is running on the public_html folder and not the sub directory?

    No that didn’t work …. Will refer company back to their old web developer to do transfer. Thanx Esmi
