• I’ve been driving myself crazy trying to figure out how to embed a Google Map (with route / directions) on a WordPress post. XML Google Maps seems to do what I want, but I can’t figure out how to make it work. Is there a tutorial for newbies, or can someone give me step-by-step directions?

    Thanks!

Yes, exactly like that one! I’ve tried using the html code that Google Maps gives me, but the published blog post just gives me a plain map, without the route.

    What am I doing wrong?

OK, so I guess moshu was just tweaking me and not actually offering any help. Here’s what I’ve discovered about the Google Maps html code: If you accept the driving directions that Google Maps gives you, the code will work perfectly, and you’ll have a nice map embedded in your page.

However, if you try to modify the route by dragging the lines in Google Maps, the code doesn’t work at all, and the route is completely messed up. And even if you change the default route by adding intermediate destinations (rather than dragging the lines), the route is still messed up.

Has anyone encountered this and found a work-around?

But how do you insert this code? It doesn’t work just by copy/past in HTML section? I’m I missing something here? Anyone?
